The region

The historic province of Languedoc has been part of the region of Occitan since 2016, which is a merger of two former regions: Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées. Located in the southern corner of France, it borders Provence in the north, the Mediterranean in the east, Spain in the south and Aquitaine (as Bordeaux is included in) to the west. The largest city and capital is Toulouse, in total, the region has about 6 million inhabitants.

Overall, the region is just as big and has plenty to offer to visitors as well as residents.
